Bahrot Caves are located at Dahanu, in the state of Maharashtra, India. These caves are located at about 8 kms from the Bordi. Bahrot caves are the only Parsi cave temple in India and hence these caves have a peculiar and extreme significance for the parsi people. The Bahrot caves also have a story from the ancestors of the Parsis, that they blessed an Iranian Fire temple in the hills, but this fire was transferred to the Bahrot caves afterwards. This fire which is also known as ‘Iranshah Flame’ has been kept in the burning state constantly after that time.

Since Bahrot caves are located at Dahanu, Dahanu is the nearest junction from all the major cities. The national highway 8 connects the major city Mumbai to Dahanu. Dahanu can be reached within 2.5 hours from Mumbai. State transport buses also run between Mumbai and Dahanu. Bahrot caves are at about 21 kms from the Dahanu, i.e at a distance of around 41 mins. Dahanu is located in the Thane district of Maharashtra and is beach town as well.
How to Reach Bahrot Caves by Train:
Dhahanu is the nearest railway station to reach to the Bahrot Caves and it is well connected to the other major cities in Maharashtra as well as out of Maharashtra like Mumbai, Pune, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad etc. One may opt for taxi or auto-rikshaws from the Dahanu railway station.
How to Reach Bahrot Caves by Air:
The nearest airport to Dahanu i.e from the Bahrot caves is Mumbai, which is at a distance of 158 kms away from the Dahanu. Visitors who want to come by air, they may reach to Mumbai airport and then they may hire a taxi to reach to Dahanu. There are A/C taxis also available that run between Mumbai airport to Dahanu.
