Bor Wildlife Sanctuary: A Haven for Tigers and Panthers

I, Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Hingi in Wardha District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. There is important wildlife conservation going in here. I am the place where you come if you want to see royal Bengal tigers. These animals are magnificent and are a joy to behold.

I am covered with green and the main species of trees found are southern mixed dry deciduous forest, Teak, ain, tendu and bamboo.  All lovers of wildlife and adventure like me, you are most welcome to visit Bor Wildlife Sanctuary. It will be a nice escape from city life. You will find pristine nature in my lap. Bor Wildlife Sanctuary get very hot during the summer, so April to May is the best time to come here. You can take, train, plane or bus.

If you take the train, Wardha is the closest station. If you take plane Nagpur is the closet airport. You can also take bus, taxi or private car. There are different government and private hotels available at Bor Wildlife Sanctuary; you can book the one which is most suitable to you. Though tiger is the main attraction in my forest, you can also see panthers, bison, blue bulls, chitals. You can also see beautiful peacocks in my forest.

Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is a place of extraordinary natural beauty and resource, but not much government work is being done in my forests. There are problems with poachers. Still Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is a major tourist’s attraction and if you are a lover of wildlife, especially tiger, this is the place, you would want to visit.

Nice blog. Did you know that Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is India’s 47th Tiger Reserve? Thanks to the government for taking initiative to save our national animal Tiger. This website provides great information about the places in Maharashtra. Good going 🙂

I stays in Wardha district and frequently visit Bor wildlife sanctuary. 10 years back it was not properly maintained and very few facilities are there. But now government have take some steps and provide basic amenities. This will help the tourists to attract towards wildlife tourism in Maharashtra.
