15. Mumba Devi Temple, Mumbai

The old Mumba Devi Temple was built in 1675 in Bori Bunder. This temple was destroyed, and the current temple was built in 1737 in Zaveri Bazaar of Bhuleshwar. This temple houses an ancient idol of Mumba Devi (an eight-armed Goddess) who is worshipped via the Dravidians and Koli fishermen.

16. Walkeshwar Temple, Mumbai

Located in Walkeshwar (near the Malabar Hill neighborhood of the South Mumbai), this temple is also known as Baan Ganga Temple. It houses an idol of Lord Shiva or Valuka Ishwar. The Portuguese destroyed the old Walkeshwar temple in 16th century and it was rebuilt in 1715.

22. Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai

30. Vihar Lake, Mumbai

31. Shivaji Park, Mumbai

Located in Dadar, it is the largest park in Mumbai and a popular place to hold social and political meetings. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation built this park in 1925. 32. Madh Fort, Mumbai

Portuguese built Madh Fort or Versova Fort as a watchtower in 17th century and lost this fort to Marathas in the war of 1739. Located in Madh Island near the Aksa beach, this fort offers a lovely view of extended coastline and the city’s skyline. A special permission from the concerned authorities is needed to visit this fort which is under the supervision of Indian Navy and Air-Force.

The British Empire built the Worli Fort in 1675 as a precautionary measure. This sturdy fort stands tall in the middle of the Worli Fishing Village with a decorated gate at the entrance.

Mumbai is located on the western coast of peninsular India overlooking the Arabian Sea. Mumbai serves a tropical wet and dry climate. Though Mumbai is visited by corporate travellers from all over the world throughout the year, but the best time to visit Mumbai by leisure travellers is the time between the end of monsoons and the onset of summers – that is during the months of September to March. Monsoon is pretty heavy, almost every year and it might not be a good idea for tourists to come and visit me during that time of the year.
