Hill Stations in Maharashtra

I am Maharashtra, easy to spot on the map of India and not only known for being the world’s second largest populated state, but the memorable tourist experiences, I provide. The experience would not just be a memorable one, but for sure, the best a person can ever have. With the various tourist places and vintage buildings that people visit me for, I am also a world famous destiny for breathtaking hill stations in Maharashtra.

I have a lot to offer, like a flower to the bee, and a woman to her lover, but since the topic is about hill stations, following are some of the best hill stations in Maharashtra that I offer are Lonavala, Matheran, Khandala, Panchagani, Bhandardara, Amboli, Malshej Ghat, Mahabaleshwar , Sawantwadi Panhala, Toranmal and Chikhaldara. Clam and pristine landscapes that my hill stations offer mesmerize not only the local tourists, but also foreign nationals.

Above list of hill stations in Maharashtra is not the complete list. There are many other hill stations in my region which are less known but offers amazing experience. I am blessed with a wonderful nature. The Sahyadri Range is my physical backbone and most of the Maharashtra hill stations are located in the Sahyadri Range of Western Ghat. At many places the foothill of Western Ghats approaches the seashore and be evidence for natural combination of hill stations and beaches of Maharashtra.

The British discovered most of popular and famous hill stations in Maharastra, during their colonial rule. They found my lush green landscapes a cool invitation during the scorching summer months. Although their rule ended several decades ago, but the beauty and the glory of my hill stations, continue to flourish. The Western Ghats, which form a part of my Sahyadri range, offers numerous beautiful hill stations.

With flora and fauna nourishing all over hill stations in Maharastra, it would make even the manliest of men go “awww”! For those of you just married couples, I am the perfect destination to spend time in, with the vintage train chugging and the dark cloud coming out of the chimney in a picturesque location, just like the Indian cinema.

Situated at 1118m of altitude, top hill stations in Maharashtra offer a cool whiff even in the warmest of weather. By the way, hope you love wildlife, because my hill stations are blessed with panthers, bears, tigers, wild dogs. We all love coastal regions, except for the oily faces it gives us, but again, it is fun at 690m when you enjoy the breathtaking views of Mother Nature.

I, could go on about how awesome I am, but I guess you have already started packing your bags, so no point in wasting my time or yours’.

Most of the hill stations in Maharashtra are situated in Sahyadri mountain ranges. Some of these hill stations are at very remote locations in the heart of jungle. You have covered famous hill stations. However there are many such hill stations in Maharashtra state which are beautiful and not explored by tourists. Such hill stations are famous in the local area only. You should try to cover these locations too.

For me Matheran is the best hill station in Maharashtra. As a Mumbaikar it is our preferred hill station. Its natural beauty always attracts tourists in monsoon and winter season.

I have visited Konkan in this vacation with my family and found many unexplored hills. These hill stations are so beautiful that you would lost yourself in its beauty. Maharashtra government should take some efforts and develop some of these hill stations into tourist places.
