Vijaydurg is a beautiful beach located in the Devgad city of Sindhudurg district. The beach is famous for its own Vijaydurg Fort. Apart from the Vijaydurg fort, there are many tourist attractions around Vijaydurg beach.
Kunkeshwar Temple
Kunkeshwar temple is situated on the Kunkeshwar beach which is around 35 km distance from Vijaydurg beach. This temple of Hindu deity Lord Shiva is also known as Konkan Kashi.
Sindhudurg Fort
Sindhudurg Fort was built by Maratha King Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century to get control over the sea and fought against Janjira fort. The fort was built on a small island in the Arabian Sea which was earlier known as Khute island. The fort is closed for tourists in monsoon, so plan your treap accordingly.
Ganpatipule Beach and Temple
Ganpatipule has situated around 180 km from Vijaydurg on the way back to Mumbai. It is famous for the beach and Lord Ganesha temple. Don’t forget to visit the “Prachin Konkan” museum at Ganpatipule.
