Places to Visit at Pench National Park

Situated at Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh, India; Pench National Park is located at the border of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The name “Pench National Park” has been derived from the Pench River that flows from this national park from north to south and divides the park in the center.

The Pench National park is blessed with beautiful climate with hills and valleys. The park is home for many animals like wild dogs, Chital, deers, monkeys, foxes, Sambar, etc with prime place for the tigers. The Pench National park remains open for visitors from October to June and remains closed in the Monsoon. One is allowed to visit the park in the timing of 6 am to 11am and 3 pm to 6 pm.

Following are the good places to see around the Pench National Park:

Kanha National Park:

Kanha National Park is one of the wild life sanctuaries In Madhya Pradesh, India. The park is located at Banjar and Halon Valleys. It is at a distance of around 136 kms from the Pench National park and one may take time of around 2 hrs 10 mins to reach. Kanha Park contains different types of wild animals including the main resident “Tiger”.

Nagzira National Park:

Nagzira National Park is located at the Gondia district of Maharashtra and situated at around 176 kms from the Pench National Park. It takes around 3 hrs to reach Nagzira national park from the Pench. The park contains more than 34 different species of mammals.

Tadoba National Park:

Tadoba National Park is situated at the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, India. Best time to visit this national park is February to May. It is around 256 kms from the Pench National Park and it takes 5 hrs to reach there. Toadoba National Park is popular for the different types of trees as well along with a number of wild animals. Trees include sal, Bamboo, Bel, Mango, Margosa, Casia, Blackplum etc.

Bandhavgarh National Park:

Bandhavgarh National Park is little more far from the Pench at around 338 kms and it takes around 6 hrs 27 mins to reach there from Pench National Park. Even though it is far, Bandhavgarh National Park is worth visiting since Royal Bengal Tigers are the main attraction at this place and in the India, the density of the tiger population is known highest at the Bandhavgarh National Park.

Other than these places, the whole Madhya Pradesh is a worth place to see. So you may visit it as well.
