Panhala Fort: Attracts Your Attention with Its Natural Beauty

I, Panhala Fort is a small city and a Hill station Municipal Council that is 3177 feet above sea level and 18 km from the northwest in the districts of Kolhapur in Maharashtra, India. Though, I am the smallest city in Maharastra but still the Municipal Council of the city is developing me very rapidly. I, Panhala offer panoramic view of the valley. In fact there are many places to visit once you come at me.

I Panhala Fort was made as the capital of the Shilahara king Bhoja II in 1178-1209 A.D.  But in 1489 AD, I was taken over by the Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur.  Later on Chatrapatti Shivaji seized Panhala in 1659 AD. I am covered with the huge area and boundary walls of 7 km in length and a steep slope beneath. Also, I am protected by the three magnificent double-walled gates at the entrance.

The attraction point in Panhala fort is the large Amberkhana and it has the capacity to containing 25,000 khandis of grains. That is why every year I am visited by thousands of tourists. The best thing about me is my weather. Neither I am too cold nor too hot. You can visit me in the average months of the year.

Though I am small in area but still I am with blessed with scenic beauty and historical magnificent monuments. You can easily reach me through air bus or road and I always make certain that I always please all my guests with my pleasing and charming beauty.

    Panhala fort is a pride of Maharashtra and witness a great history of our king Shivaji. Everyone who is staying in Maharashtra should visit Panhalgad atleast once in a lifetime.

    forts r beautiful,it is surprising how they built these forts, what technology they used.
