Somewhat similar to Goa beaches with a little less population, Bassein is known for its historic forts apart from the prominent beach. These historic forts were built by Portuguese within the dense areas of brushwood and palm grooves.

Some of the tourist places at Bassein beach include Buddhist relics at Nalasopara, Akoli hot springs, Bhimeshwar temple, churches, Vajreshwari temple, and many ashrams.

Akoli Hot Springs

There have been incidents wherein this spring has cured people of their ailments such as skin diseases and rheumatic disorders.
