Enchanting Coastal Tribal Tourism Experience at Dahanu
Dahanu is a small and sleepy town on the coast of the Arabian Sea in Thane district of Maharashtra. The name Dahanu is the short form of the original name, “Dahanu Gram” – that means a village of the cows. At that time people at Dahanu used to have a lot of cattle, especially cows and that is how it got the name.
Though Dahanu beach is a bustling commercial town today still with the rivers and rivulets flowing westward towards the sea after emerging from the gentle slopes of the Sahyadri Mountains, with the thick forests on the hills and beautiful beaches it is still as charming and naturally beautiful as it has always been.

The article is good but the Dahanu beach is not as good as described. Its OK, not so great beach. The beach water is not clean. If anyone suffering from any skin diseases please stay away from the beach. However the sunset is beautiful here.
