Karjat, A Heavenly Place For The Trekkers

I Karjat, am a hill station located between Pune and Mumbai, at an altitude of 700 meter from the mean sea level. I cover parts of the Western Ghats and the Sahydri mountain ranges and some parts of the Konkan region. I have a vast population of nearly 2.25 lakh people. The special thing about me is that I am nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range; which is one of the largest bio diversities in the world; supporting a huge number of species of flora and fauna. I being a part of this bio diversity have become the main attraction for the nature enthusiasts.

The specialty of Karjat Hill Station is that you can visit anytime. Obviously that depends on what kind of activities you are going to do out here. But, effectively the best time to visit me is during the monsoons. Here the monsoon season lasts from June to September. My vicinity will welcome you with several gurgling cascades and waterfalls. It is a heaven for the mountaineers and trekkers. You can even go for water rafting on the river Ulhas, just after July. During the winters you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains. I Karjat, being a hill station, enjoy a relatively cooler climate throughout the year.

I being in close proximity to Mumbai Karjat Hill Station become a preferred get away for the residents of Mumbai, during short vacations and weekends. They usually enjoy spending time with me, by relaxing in the hotels, resorts, farm houses and the private bungalows here. I am a perfect place of recreation to people. The major places of attractions here are the Kondana caves, the beautiful cascades and waterfalls and the Jain temple.
