Religious Places in Maharashtra

Hello there, I am Maharashtra, the glamorous, the sizzling, and the second largest state in India. I am famous for sheltering the warrior King Shivaji, for the Bollywood drama, for my golden sand beaches, for my hill stations, for the ancient caves and that is not all.

For those seeking a pilgrimage, I am one of the destinations in India that are actively visited by both Indian and foreign nationals. Like my mother India, even I have religious tolerance and have sheltered each religious sect in my land.

List of Religious Places in Maharashtra

Ashta vinayak Hari Mandir, Mumbai Shani Shingnapur
Babulnath Haji Ali Dargah Shirdi
Balaji Mandir, Nerul Kailasanatha, Ellora Shiv Mandir, Ambarnath
Prati Balaji, Pune Kopineshwar, Thane Siddhivinayak, Mumbai
Bhimashankar Mahalakshmi, Mumbai Swaminarayan, Mumbai
Bhuleshwar Mahalaxmi, Kolhapur Tryambakeshwar
Birla Mandir, Shahad Marleshwar Tuljapur
Ekvira Panchavati Vajreshwari
Yamai Pandharpur Walkeshwar Temple
Ganpatipule Saptashrungi Gajanan Maharaj Temple, Kanhor
Ghrishneshwar Sarasbaug Ganpati

Not just one religion, not just one god in each religion, but every god has a shrine that was built for them in on my pastures. I house many beautiful churches, mosques, temples, and gurudwaras. Some of these temples of Maharashtra are as old as 6th century B.C., while the latest ones belong to 1847 AD.

Famous Temples in Maharashtra

Some of the prominent religious places and famous temples in Maharashtra are Shirdi, Pandharpur, Mumbadevi Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, Sach Khand Shri Huzur Gurdwara, Mount Marry Church, Bahubali Temples, Afghan Memorial Church, Haji Ali tomb, Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib of Nanded, Ambadevi Temple, and Dilwara Temple.

Often, in these religious edifices, you can enjoy a rock garden built in 5 hectares, or the intricately carved marble sculptures, or perhaps experience the blessed power of the gods.

I am just not going describe each of them as it would take pages, but rather I want you to explore the spirituality with my beautiful religious structures.
